12 Months of Bundles – AGF Remix w/ Stash Fabrics

Last year, I was the winner of the first Stash Fabrics Design Star, where I had to create bundles every stage of the contest. Since I had already become Art Gallery Fabrics’ Sewcialite when the contest began, each of my bundles that I curated was 100% AGF. At first, the task of curating bundles took me hours and hours. But by the time the contest ended, I felt like I had developed a sure-fire process for curating bundles. So when Beth asked me to curate 12 bundles for a year-long AGF Remix Club, I said heck yes because it would allow me to continue developing this skill and it was super duper fun. As a stash-builder club, I made sure to provide a variety of print scales, colors, and saturation that would look good together in isolation and as a group of 12. Now that’s it has ended in May of 2018, I must say that the goal was achieved.

My first step when creating a bundle is to select a couple complementary main prints, which generally would have a lot of elements to it and a lot of different colors. Since I started sewing in apparel, picking two or three fabrics that looked cute together was an approachable task for me. And once these were selected, a color story was born and I’d fill in the bundle with less intricate prints that pulled from the colors of the main prints. It almost felt to me like the bundles curated themselves instead of me doing the work, which also gave each one it’s own unique perspective and feel.

With this project now in the rearview, I thought it would be neato to share each bundle, partially for a time of reflection and partially to bring you along this journey. While some of the bundles sold out, there are still some left, so I’m gonna add links to those bundles in case you wanted to snag one.

In my final bundle, the timing was perfect because I got to include some of my Loved to Pieces collection in here. Never would I ever have imagined my own designs would be a part of these bundles. Woweewow.

So thanks for coming along my bundle journey with Stash Fabrics. It was such an honor to curate these bundles and hope you enjoyed them as much as I did.
